PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

  As another holiday season approaches so does the passing of another year.  In 2008 we have seen the fruits of our labour begin to be realized.  By maintaining a healthy population of animals at the shelter and providing vaccinations, microchips and a spay/neuter program we have seen our adoption rates increase.  This is rewarding for shelter staff and directors as the number of animals euthanized drops as well.  We have worked hard to become an adoption centre not just a drop off spot for unwanted animals.

 

  As always the challenge in this positive picture is maintaining the finances to allow us to continue to make a difference in so many animals' lives.  In 2009 we look forward to undertaking a home makeover lottery.  With prizes of furniture, flooring and electronics we hope to move our fund raising efforts to a new level.   

 

  I would like to thank everyone that has assisted the shelter in the past year.  This is very much a team effort.  I hope everyone's families have a lovely holiday season and we look forward to the New Year with its rewards and challenges.
